Presently, Myriam Augustin is a Resource Specialist at the New York State Language Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (Language RBERN) at New York University. She is an expert in the field of Education with two Masters Degrees from the Bank Street College of Education. She is close to completing an Ed. D. in International Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
She has many years of experience in the U.S., southern and western Africa, and Haiti. Her expertise encompasses bilingual and English as a second language (ESL) education, teacher education and training, international education, elementary education, senior-level administration and supervision, curriculum development, and educational research. Through her years of service she has held various positions at the NYC Department of Education, and as the Director of the Haitian Bilingual ESL Technical Assistance Center at City College (HABETAC), Ms. Augustin has become a respected leader in the NY Haitian community, known for her advocacy for both immigrant students and their families, and quality conscientious education for all. Ms. Augustin is a co-founder of the Lanbi Fund of Haiti. She has also trained teachers in several schools in rural areas in Haiti. She has been a member of the CUNY-Haiti Initiative where she has taught at several public universities in Haiti. In 2013, she founded the MCA International Consulting LLC with the goal of providing services in education in the NY Metropolitan area and abroad.
